Women¿s Business Council offers U.S., Arab Businesswomen Chance to Connect
New program announced during the 2006 U.S.-Arab Economic Forum

Houston, Texas ¿ The American Middle East Economic Affairs Committee (AMEAC) Women¿s Business Council will be introduced in Houston, Texas during the 2006 U.S.-Arab Economic Forum at a networking luncheon themed, ¿Mobilizing Our Voices: Women as the Powerful Collaborative.¿
Operating under the premise that women are the next emerging force that will shape 21st century Arab world, this international collaboration focuses on strategic alliances and partnerships, developing ¿business intelligence¿ as a core competency, connecting cultures of women via virtual networking and mentoring, as well as developing on leadership and management skill-sets.
¿Today¿s dynamic, competitive environment commands a very strategic approach on women¿s issues,¿ said Wendy Acho, program co-collaborator. ¿We can no longer think or manage our organizations and agendas by linear methodologies. Women empowerment is the foundation of every macro-economic growth strategy for the next world which will be driven by emerging market economies and led by the emergent citizenry of women.¿
The luncheon is co-hosted by the Mosaic Foundation. The Mosaic Foundation is a charitable and educational organization founded by the spouses of Arab Ambassadors to the United States. The Mosaic Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of women and children, while fostering cultural, educational, and professional dialogues between the peoples of the Arab world and the United States through its charitable, humanitarian, and cultural involvement in both regions. From western Africa to the Gulf, the member countries of the Mosaic Foundation span a wide spectrum of cultures and traditions. The Foundation's vision brings together people from each of these nations, allowing them to contribute their unique talents and qualities to Mosaic¿s endeavors. We are privileged to have their delegation present.
Council leadership includes: H.H. Sheikha Hussah Al Sabbah, Chairwomen, Arab Women Council; Wendy Acho, Vice President, LaSalle Bank Corporation and Co-Collaborator, AMEAC; Asmaa Jamil, Risk Management, DaimlerChrysler, Co-Collaborator, AMEAC; Zlatica I. Kraljevic, PhD, Executive Professor, Director International Affairs, Global Energy Management Institute, Board Member; Nancy Yacoub, Executive Director, Mosaic Foundation, Board Member; Cari Guittard, Executive Director, Business for Diplomatic Action, Board Member; Rym Bedoui, CEO, Agora International, Board Member.

The Women¿s Business Council¿s leadership will consist of American and Middle East Co-chairs who will jointly govern the Council.
Council membership welcomes U.S. and Arab enterprises, businesswomen, partnerships, corporate and academic leaders and social entrepreneurs. The council is an organization of pre-eminent women, leveraging global networks across nations, cultures and industries to maximize on bi-national opportunities.
Under the leadership of the American Middle East Economic Affairs Committee (AMEAC), the U.S.-Arab Economic Forum¿s (USAEF) perpetuating vision in the promotion of greater understanding between America and the Arab World, the formation of the AMEAC Women¿s Business Council was launched. The AMEAC Women¿s Business Council is an officially sanctioned AMEAC committee and a product of the 2003 U.S.-Arab Economic Forum.
